The summer slowdown is in full effect in the Capital Region.
I can’t speak for all tattooers but between the current state of our democracy, the chaos of our economy, tariffs ( I hate that word at this point but it-unfortunately-includes most of our tattoo supplies ) and the extreme heat, it’s a wild time to be a self employed artist of any kind let alone a tattoo artist.
But when it gets slow, I pivot. I like to take that unaccounted for time to take on illustration commissions that I’d typically have to turn down.
I’m excited to be working on some band art for Hot Velvet, some banner designs for The Starlet Parlor and a sticker design for Persephone Pomme. I’ve also got a new colorway on deck for my Greatest Hits Kewpie Bandana but that’s gonna stay a secret for a little while longer 😉
We’ve also been walking around in the mountains and forests *see above video and have a little road trip to Niagara Falls planned for Mr. Smith’s birthday (he’s never been so I’m gonna fix that 🥳)

This week I got make a wee Daenerys Targaryen for Jeanne from Connecticut.
That was all this past week but thankfully so because the heat was brutal and I spent the rest of the week working on some shop upgrades to keep it cool.
Bonus: three throwbacks from June 2019, 2021 & 2023 🎉
